Philosopher and artist

César Valenzuela is a political philosopher, theater artist, and filmmaker. Their philosophical research and artistic practice explore topics such as global warming, race, and artificial intelligence.

Currently, they are a PhD candidate in Philosophy at Stanford University, teaching Introduction to Moral Philosophy and Climate Politics. At Stanford, César has been a Dissertation Fellow and a Next Generation Scholar at the Stanford Humanities Center; an artist resident at the Institute for Diversity in the Arts; a fellow in the Rising Environmental Leaders Program; and a graduate fellow at the McCoy Center for Ethics and the Basic Income Lab.
